PowerPoint add-in

Live poll results, right on your slide

Ask the room a question, then reveal the answers live on the next slide — the bars fill in as people vote from their phones.

One thing first: on the survey's Live screen in NumoForms, switch “Public projector” on. That’s what lets the add-in read the results without anyone signing in. The slide only ever shows anonymous totals — never individual responses.

Once it’s installed

Point it at a survey and you’re done — no re-copying links on every slide.

1

Drop it on a slide

Insert the add-in onto the slide where you want the results to appear.

2

Paste your survey link

Paste the survey’s live link, then pick which question to show — or let it cycle through all of them.

3

Present

The chart updates in real time as your audience answers. Dark or light, on your brand colour.

Install it (sideloading)

Adding an add-in yourself is a little fiddly — PowerPoint has no simple “upload” button in most versions, so you register it once per device. It then stays in PowerPoint. Pick your version:

  1. Download the add-in using the button at the top of this page (it saves numoforms-powerpoint.xml).
  2. In Finder, press ⌘⇧G and go to this folder (create the wef folder if it isn’t there):
    ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Powerpoint/Data/Documents/wef
  3. Copy the downloaded numoforms-powerpoint.xml into that wef folder.
  4. Quit and reopen PowerPoint.
  5. Open Insert → Add-ins. The add-in is under My Add-ins (in the Developer Add-ins group). Click it to add it to the slide.
Go to Folder …/com.microsoft.Powerpoint/Data/Documents/wef Go
Finder → ⌘⇧G → the wef folder

  1. Download the add-in from the button at the top (saves numoforms-powerpoint.xml).
  2. Put that file in a folder, then share the folder: right-click it → Properties → Sharing → Share. Note the network path it gives you — it looks like \\YOUR-PC\Add-ins.
  3. In PowerPoint: File → Options → Trust Center → Trust Center Settings → Trusted Add-in Catalogs.
  4. Paste that network path into Catalog Url, click Add catalog, tick Show in Menu, then OK.
  5. Close and reopen PowerPoint, then go to Insert → Add-ins → Shared Folder and choose NumoForms Live Results.

  1. Download the add-in from the button at the top (saves numoforms-powerpoint.xml).
  2. Open your presentation in PowerPoint on the web (office.com) and go to Insert → Add-ins.
  3. If you see an Upload My Add-in link, click it and browse to the file.
Microsoft only shows this on some work/school accounts.
  4. No upload option? Then the web app can’t sideload on your account — use the Mac or Windows steps instead, or wait for the Office-store version.

Heads up: sideloading is fiddly on purpose — there’s no one-click upload in most PowerPoint versions. That’s exactly why we’re publishing it to the Office store, where adding it will be a single button. Until then, the steps above are the reliable way. Stuck? Email ash@oynk.co.uk.
